We started the day with some misty rain but it quickly turned nice and we had a glorious riding day with favorable winds. After a quick stop at the Jelly Belly factory, we traveled back roads through agricultural lands to end up in Sacramento. Felt great and spent a couple of hours less on the bike than yesterday.

Snacks laid out for us at the SAG (support and gear) stop. The strawberries and cherries were purchased at a local stand and tasted fabulous!
And to top off a wonderful day, I got to enjoy dinner with "La Bomba", the amazing and beautiful Tami Boehm Larson and her husband Bob. Tami is my favorite person ever to make me look like a midget. We were missionary companions in Guatemala many moons ago. So so great to spend some time with them!
Tomorrow is another fairly easy day before we hit some big climbs on Wednesday. So excited!
Thanks for the great photos....makes me feel like I'm "along for the ride!" So great that you could spend time with a mission comp. I knew it...you're really doing this to visit friends from coast to coast! And..don't worry about those upcoming hills...after all - you're a Colorado gal who trained at altitude! Good Luck on Day 3! ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed the dinner and ride today. I must protest just a little on the photo though. It looks like you are normal size and I am "una giganta" that is at least 8 feet tall! Maybe next time we should take a picture with Bob on the other side of you and HE can look like the gigante!
