Day 15 - Price to Green River

Price to Green River was another big open country day. We had beautiful skies and good weather if a bit hot. In honor of Flag Day we were all sporting our America By Bicycle jerseys. Fiona and I added patriotic ribbons on the backs of our helmets. We also had a few other surprises in the form of squirt guns and the little popper things you can chuck on the ground. We rode with the "big boys" in the pace line up to the first SAG stop which was pretty fun and makes me focus a lot more when I ride. I have to keep up and not get too close and not fall back too much. You don't get to enjoy the scenery as much but you do travel faster and it is easier in some ways than going it on your own. We pulled out the squirt guns not too far before the SAG stop and that kind of broke up the line. :) Then we of course rained down on everyone else as they pulled into the stop. At which point we also broke out the poppers to increase the excitement. It was all very festive and a few people retaliated with water bottles and our flags got appropriated from our bikes by a slightly soggy rider. Other than that, just a fast 65 miles from Price into Green River. Most of us then jumped in the vans and took a side trip to Arches. I was in a van with a German, 2 Norwegians, and a Brit so I got to play tour guide to people who knew basically nothing about the area. Loved it. :) Plus they were never able to challenge me on anything!

Not quite the green of the previous day but still pretty country!

Our festive head gear

Helping people stay cool!

Nothing is more fun than riding a bike!

Is this place pretty or what?

I'm getting pretty good at taking pictures on the move. Nice backhand shot here. :)

Getting ready to reenter the interstate system. We enjoyed I-80 so much we thought we'd try I-70 for a bit.

Donning my awesome socks from the Memmotts for hiking in Arches!

Yep, we did that. Man, was it hot! And this was after biking 65 miles.

Riding in a van with writing on the windows is not the greatest for seeing the scenery but it made for an interesting shot!

Skittles. The energy food of champions. :)
